I just set my injection pump timing on my 81 caddy. I've been running on WVO (two tank system) for two years. I used the "standard" timing setting (.86mm), but noticed that the bentley manual also contains a setting for "improved performance" (.98mm).
I was wondering if this other setting may be better for running on WVO. I've read about people "advancing" the timing for vegetable oil, but I don't completely understand the dynamics involved. Any input?

Re: WVO injection timing
I've always advanced my pump as much as I could,
I think it idles better on vegy with the cold start out.

Re: WVO injection timing
just advanced my pump timing to the highest "advanced performance" setting.
I'll post what I notice, though I put a reman head on too, so I'll expect better things (once I get some other problems sorted out)

Re: WVO injection timing
Coming back to update
I've been messing with my injection timing and have also noticed a better idle with the cold start lever pulled. I even think I had the timing overly advanced for a bit (some marbling sounds), and it still seemed better with the cold start pulled on VO
