Mud oven

Post by Fatmobile »

I'm building another mudstove/canner,
"3-burner wood fired stovetop"

This time instead of a water heater in the chimney, there will be an oven.
Imageshack was free then after I hosted all my pics they tried to hold them hostage.
Now I have to rehost and repost all my pictures so...
Imageshack sucks goes before each one.

With the damper down gasses have to go straight up the chimney.

When the damper is up it blocks the chimney and the gasses have to go through the oven.

I went to a skill share at Harmony Park Music garden this weekend.
The base is set and the walls to the tunnel are in place and have a thin layer of mud on them.

Got a couple more days into this project.

It dried quicker with a fire in it so I was able to get more done.

...also alllowed me to cooked some potatos and squash while I was working on it

The door is on and the surface is waterglassed.
I put a horizontal surface behind the canner pot, for a warmer and general place to set things.
Ready for winter.

I didn't put a finish coat on it. Winter will mess with the surface so the finish coat will be put on in the spring.
