NA pump in a TD motor...

Post by tripseven »

I'm getting ready to reseal my TD IP and was wondering if I could run my MK1 107a NA pump on my MK1 TD motor till I get it done. TIA!

it's been done before. you just won't get any fuel boost so it will be like the ECO engine setup but should run fine

Remember, unlike a turbo pump which waits for feedback from the turbo[inlet pressure actually] to feed in extra fuel, your pump's maximum fueling is dependent on the max fuel screw and the position of your foot on the pedal, so you could add fuel faster than you could burn it [as you could with the T-pump if you tweek it] H'mm.... Maximum fueling on both pumps is potentially the same  Does that make sense?

The 107A is for a 1.5 engine and has a steeper timing curve.
That might be a good thing on a 1.6 but listen for alot of noise at the higher RPMs to make sure it's not too advanced up there.

The 107A ran a bit better than my 109C in my 1.6 NA motor and better mileage too. And I do recall having to back off the timing a tad. Thanks for the reminder Fatmobile!
