Bosch 1.6 IP Shaft

Post by dirtroad »

I am in need of a shaft for a Injection Pump or a complete used IP. My shaft is broken. Where can I get a shaft?

I doubt the shaft is the only problem. Even if it were, replacement is not trivial; it is installed with the bushing, which is reamed to exacting tolerance.

What happened to the IP?
Have a nice day.

I am not exactly sure myself! My guess is that a bad mix of veggie oil and ??? was to blame. It was broken when I got it two or three years ago. I had to clean the entire fuel system and I used my spare to get the engine going but never repaired the bad IP. I have a use for it now so am going to repair it. I would rather just find a decent used IP.

Just buy a used runner that has been leaking from somebody and take it apart to clean and reseal yourself.

Don't know about everybody else but the "bosch" shops around here are damn nuts when it comes to prices of touching things, like reaming a shaft to fit a set of new bearings. Internet companies seem to compete way more than the shops in the bay area.
