Gauges and parts

Post by Fatmobile »

I am going through the gauge pile and have some extras.
$35 each for early Mk1:

Late MK1 with an extra light for a true glow plug:

$75 each: Modded late westy diesel clusters:
Notice the extra LED sparkling right next to the glow plug light? That's lights up to let you know the glow plugs actually have power going to them
,.. it tells you the fuse, relay and wiring are good.
You'll need to run a wire from the glow plug fuse, through the firewall but a stock connector will be provided for the extra space in the cluster plug,.. for you to splice to.

My internet provider just eliminated dial-up so I won't be on as often until I get something else. Using the library wireless for awile.
Be patient.

too bad about the dialup. You may want to check on FreedomPop. You buy the 3g/4g device from them (about $50 I think) and pay $4/month for up to 500Mb of data. Not a bad deal if you don't use a lot of bandwidth and it's cellular. I have one for when I am out in my place in the country. You do need a wifi card in your computer but the USB ones are cheap if you don't have one already.

Sorry not trying to be a salesman but wanted to share.

Like the glow plug LED, nice touch.

If yours is a dual round gauge setup this won't work for you.
I'm still shopping for internet options so thanks for the freedompop idea.
The light is pretty easy to do, it's practically set up for it.
The late gauges comes with the connector that slides into the extra spot on the cluster plug.

Your proposal for an entire unit sounds good to me.

I hate to ask but my wife insists I ask if the unit works, both speedometer and odometer? After the heater saga earlier this year, which works great now btw, she's on the ragged edge about old diesels, until she reallizes the good fuel mileage of course. Me? I just duck and try to create the greatest rationale ever heard. At 74 it's better for me to pretend she has me "trained". Cold day. Oh well.

Anyway, pending your answer, which she will read over my shoulder, I'm for doing it. Then we'll have to figure out how to pay you and who it's shipped by and all that stuff.

I'm not an expert on internetting. old dog-new tricks. But we'll figure it out. I get E-cig stuff for me and the kids/grandkids all the time, usually Visa or PayPal.

Anyway, thank you.

I haven't put them in the car to see if they work yet.
Figured I'd wait until it sells.

I'll put one in the Bronze Rabbit and take it to town.
It's set up the same way with the extra light.

I'll give you a 1 year warranty on the speedo/odo and gauges and the indicator lights,.. well everthing but the clock.
Paypal or postal money order works for me.

Sounds good, wife approves. The clock is not an issue for us, beyond an age they cease to work anyway.

What is your Paypal address?
