For Sale: 1990 VW Jetta GL - Wilmington NC

The time has come for me to part ways with my 1990 VW Jetta GL.

Here is the info from my Craigslist ad:

I've owned it 8 years and have done some work over the years. I'm the 2nd owner.

1.6 non-turbo Diesel engine
5 speed Manual Transmission with a NEW clutch March 2014.
Shifter rebuild kit installed May 2014, it shifts like a new car.

UPDATE 5/29/14:
New driver side axle shaft
New ball joint - driver side
New tie rod ends - both sides

I'll start with the bad:
A/C does not work. I suspect a hole in the condenser. I filled it last summer, it ran well for two days.
Cruise control does not work
Rust at bottom of windshield, rain drips on feet sometimes
Cracked windshield (passes NC inspection)
Faded paint


The following has been done since ownership (I've put about 20,000 miles on it)

Injection pump professionally rebuilt
Head gasket
Timing belt
Water pump
Clutch
Muffler
Power steering reservoir and new fluid
Tires have 3000 miles on them
Shocks/Struts
Glow plugs and glow plug relay
Motor Mounts
Converted front seat belts from attaching to door to attaching to pillar.

I also have some Raceland lowering springs that can be part of the deal if interested.

Possible trades for: Suzuki Sidekick or Geo Tracker, must be 4x4 and a manual transmission. Other trades: Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 + cash on my end.
