Well if the stock systems been bypassed, that kinda rules that out. Even if the relay were there, it would have no current going through it. I've had alternators with bad diodes charge a small load but not anything major. Its probably worth the time to have it checked out at the very least. If it isn't the alternator it could still be a bad battery. I'm not convinced wiring is the issue.

Don't get me wrong, I have ruled out very little. Even the alternator I had tested was done in car, and it looked to me that the guy was mostly looking at the same voltage readings I was looking at already. Whatever the problem is, definitely exacerbates under a heavier load.

I'm get back to you guys on this, when I can do more thorough work and testing . Its a lot different dealing with this stuff in the winter with your only car
