Position of VNT vac.can. Fatmobile vs libbybapa?

Post by BGA »

In Libbys threads on VNT controls, vac.can is installed in linkage between throttle lever and VNT lever. A lot of people has copied this design.
Fatmobiles thread in this forum shows vac.can fixed solid a side of above mentioned linkage.
Is there a difference in behaviour performancevise? I see an advantage in a fixed can. Its easier to change can return spring(s).

It might have been better to put this in my VNT thread.
Much of my design was helped by info from Libby. Like no added spring pressure against your foot while driving.
In the long run they both work well so it's hard to say which is better.
I got rid of the external springs because it looks cleaner,.. but I'm pretty sure it's just as easy to swap can springs on either setup. I've just been bending the crimp open and swapping springs before bending it back but there are ways to make it so bolts and a ring can be used to clamp the 2 halves together.
I was going to take a picture of the pump attachment on mine but haven't yet,.. but all the door handles and locks work now, ha.
