That is the plan for right now.
I'm enjoying using my late grandfather's engine rebuilding tools on this project. He rebuilt many a Chevy back in the late 40's to mid 50's and I ended up with most of his tools from his shop when he passed 16 years ago. The tools are ancient but they still work. He would be proud to know they're still in use.
New rings are installed and the engine is running very well. We'll see how it does. I went back through the injection timing again and somehow "fixed" the stagnant power issue. I wish I could tell you what I did, but I really don't know. I did set the timing to .95 mm and she runs sweet and has good smooth power through each gear. I use the term "power" loosely.
It appears that I had the timing set too high, according to the dial gauge.
