Ohh that's not going to buff out

Here's a picture of the jetta I'm parting out:

Gotta love that tailpipe, ha

Some guy hit a slick spot and rolled into the ditch this winter.
I'm needing a better ALH engine for the MTDI and can use the 5-speed for something.
Plus there are several other parts that will fill in gaps in my 2000 Jetta.
The guy put a new clutch and control arms on it just before the crash.
Came with new tie rods, and a ball joint still in the bag.

Good save picking up the pieces of that (wtf?).
I've never seen so many things wrong about a tailpipe.
Exhaust, bumper, barber shop sign, rain gauge - all in one.
Very Dr. Seuss

I can't stop picking at it.
Just when I think I have everything, I think of something else to grab or tear apart.
I want to know how to fix the heater vent doors, the Mk4s have the same problem as the MK2s.
So I pulled the dash off.

All the little locking things like rear seats, glove box, trunk fuel cap controls are different than my other ones
so I got those so I can swap tumblers.

I been wanting one of those antennas for the rabbit for a long time.
That was a lot of work getting the headliner off,.. damn if there wasn't a family of mice came running right at me.

The passenger door controls don't work on my 2000 jetta
so I went to grab the ones off this one and look there are aftermarket kicker speakers.
SO I had to pull all the door cards and grab all of them.
Had a six CD changer inside the rear left cover, not sure how that works.

Thought I was done but I was just sitting here thinking
oh I didn't grab the seat belts yet, ha.

I wish I could find someone who needed those driver's side doors, such a nice color.

I've always felt like the most everything about the mk4 jettas were a little better than the golfs,
except that it's a sedan.

I hear the MK4 golf headlight setup works better.
I'd rather have a MK4 golf than a Jetta, even if some of the parts are better.
They will swap over.
That's the way it was with the MK2s also

The insulation to wiring harness was falling off on my mk4 golf.
Worth taking a look, I was just changing a bulb and found out both sides were wasted.
Potential fire hazard.
There is a company making them because it's such a common failure

The golf headlamps were PIA to work on, I imagined the
Jetta versions had to be easier.
