Is there a method for tying into the return line back to the tank? its a hard plastic line and then end of mine that attaches to the pump barb has been frayed. I am hoping to cut then end off and attach some new hose somehow.

Cheers,
Doug

I repaired the plastic hardline under my Jetta with a compression union. Worked great!

On an '87 gasser Jetta:
I got the plastic line to slide over the barb by dipping it in a pot of boiling water first.

I replaced my fuel return line with soft rubber fuel line from my local diesel specialists on my '83 vanagon. But, I had to use a copper barbed splice to connect the smaller line from the pump to the larger fuel line at the tank. Works great and hasn't leaked.
