The Bentley (Engine Chapter, Page 45) gives the following:

Basic dimension.............. 76.48mm
1st oversize (0.25mm)......76.73mm
2nd oversize (0.50mm).....76.98mm
3rd oversize (1.00mm)......77.48mm

So, the 76.73 (1st o/s) appears to be correct.
Blue 1986 Golf N/A Bought it in '94. Never been on the road since.
Green 1991 Jetta TD. Bought it 6 months ago.
Hasn't been on the road since.

Hello ,
when you bought them did they come with rings installed and wrist pin /bushing? Where did you get them from.? I'm trying to determine if these are OEM or other. Try to figure this out and I will give you an offer. Sincerely , Paolo
P. S why did you put them in and then take them out. Just curious.

I have a brand new set of 1 oversize set of rings that would go with your pistons that you can have for $10 plus shipping.
