oil pump relief valve adjusting

Hello, All. I'm swapping an AAZ into my Diesel Vanagon 1.6na. Can I just transfer the oil pickup tube from the 1.6 onto the AAZ's pump. Do the pressure relief valves open at the same psi. If not is it possible to shim or reduce the spring to change the tension and thus the opening pressures.? Any one done this before? Another question, is the clutch/ flywheel the same on a 1997 1.9 AAZ canadian spec Golf than on my Vanagon. Thanks, Paolo
