I did a clutch on my 1996 VW Passat TDI AHU.
I goofed. In the struggle to fit that thing in and out, I broke my little plastic gear that attaches to the speedometer sender unit.
I've googled around but found only ABS wheel speed sensors. I cannot find the stupid white plastic gear! No auto parts place has a clue.
Somebody sell me one! My Cruise, Odometer, and Speedometer all don't work now. Stupid gear!
Spedometer gear

Re: Spedometer gear
That would be a dealer only option or as a used part. You should verify the number of teeth the gear has before getting a replacement one.

Re: Spedometer gear
A good parts person should be able to get it from your VIN # but I would also get your transmission code as well. Just to double check. It's just a direct ratio from your finial drive and tire size. Non-stock tires will through it out a bit.
