bearings

Post by diesel freak »

My local shop exchanged my whole bearing assembly with a rebuilt set with new bearings for the price of just the bearings alone. An easy swap no hassel.

Not used bearings. I bought the new bearings from the shop and they pressed them into their own spindals. It is an exchange system so that after I remove my spindal I give them back to the shop. That way my down time is minimized.

My awesome powers of interweb deduction make me suspect we're talking about front wheel bearings here... I just don't know why. :D

Yes wheel bearings. I thought I was replying to "post reply" and must have selected "new topic." Will be more careful in my future responses.

No worries...just made it a little tricky to figure out the context.

I'm with you... many shops will simply exchange knuckles... very little down time, no sweating with big vices etc. :D

I figured he was trying to reply to the '85 golf wheel bearing post.
I've never heard of a place that has a swap all set up like that,
I don't like asking them to stop what they are doing and press these in for me so I sometimes had to drop them off,.. downtime.

Now they let me use their press, win win.

but that walk in with spindles and walk out carrying spindals with fresh bearings pressed in, sound like a good deal for everyone.
