Injector shims, again?

Post by DanHoug »

anyone have a source for injector shims other than Mercedessource.com? all the injectors i have seem to have the 0.050" shim, except for the 2 150bar ones that have 0.054"

i guess i don't need a whole set... just 0.051-0.055 range.

had an injector on #2 that has been nailing bad and doesn't respond to cleaning so i put in a new nozzle and upped the pressure to 2200psi (makes timing a bit later) to shut that cylinder up. i'm on the verge of being over advanced but wanted to see what changing the pressure/timing on the offending cylinder would do.

I bought some 10mm " shims " from ebay.uk , put the bigger 11.5mm original shims next to the spring.

They seem to work fine (the ebay guy said this is what they use for the vw idi injectors), haven't installed the injectors yet but those tiny shims really helped for getting the pressures right with the pop tester. Took about 2 weeks to arrive from the UK
