Size of oil galley soft plug?

Post by Dakotakid »

Does anyone know the specific size (diameter) of the small soft plug (on the transmission end of the engine block) which is in the location of the intermediate shaft?

How many millimeters and is this a typical soft plug design?
Thank you....happy new year....yada yada.....

14mm. The one at the end of the intermediate shaft is 36.6mm, tho and also blocks oil, not water.

I was a bit worried seeing those core plugs when the gearbox was out, as a leaking rusted core plug there would be a nightmare fix. Fortunately as the last poster mentioned, they seal oil. Happy Days. :D

Plus, if it's covered by the transmission, it's in a pretty protected environment where it would take a fairly long time to corrode.
