My 1981 Rabbit got smashed up, when it gets warm outside I will pull the engine and trans. The engine was pushed sideways and the transmission motor mount broke the end cap housing casting. As far as I can tell so far, that's the only damage. I haven't checked yet for serial numbers, but if anyone has a spare, please let me know, I'd like to put the 5 spd in my 4 spd Caddy.
Thanks,
Erik

I don`t have a transmission, but would like to know if you will be selling other parts from your car?
Re: WTB: Transmission: 1981 5spd clutch release/bearing hous
I probably will want to sell parts eventually, the immediate plans are to wait for spring (not that immediate), see what my 1983 Jetta needs, and swap parts out so that I can keep a rolling chassis for the scrapper (the body is pretty much shot, but doors are good, etc). When I do, I will post on this forum.
By the way, I don't need a whole transmission, just the casting with the mount.
