Will the '83 Rabbit hub caps fit an '86 Golf's 13" wheels? I think they will but, I am unsure.

There are different kinds of hubcaps.
Some might fit.
'91 Golf gasser converted to a 12mm pump, M-TDI.
'84 1.6TD Rabbit with a VNT-15 turbo, still setup to run on vegetable oil.
'84 GTI with 1.7TD pistons and intercooled.
2003 TDI wagon
2000 TDI Jetta.

If the caps fit on to the nuts they will...
If the hub fit onto the wheel they may.

Thus some Mk3 stuff may fit on mk1 ...

I am refering to the roughly 6" center cap, itself.

I am pretty sure all the 13" wheels of that era will accept the clips that hold the 6" center caps on.

I have run into other 13" steel rims that would hold the clips but the small hubcaps would not fit in the rims.
Might have been cabriolet rims.

I have found that the older wheels that mushroom out and have a flat spot around the bolts won't hold some of the newer plastic rims.
