1999 passat engine swap?

I found a real nice 1999 Passat with a blown engine. Will a 1.6 diesel fit in this car? I know I will have to do work to make the electirical and fuel work but will the engine fit?

I was really hoping someone would have some answers since I was looking to try this myself. Maybe a B3 or B4 in my case. A friend of mine has been picking up B5's on the cheap for a while. A lot of them get electrical problems that can't be resolved with a couple thousand in labor. I think most cars built after 95 are this way.
Anyway. The only hearse I've heard about swapping into a 99 B5 is that the longitudinal engine would be more difficult if not impossible. That TDI's are Transversal and are very doable.
