Thule 305 Roof Rack

I think I have two of these racks for the Mk2's. I have read that a Mk3 rack can be modified to fit a Mk2 but I can't find where someone had done this the other way around. I mean slap a Thule 305 on to a Mk3. I want to be cheaper than the Limey and set the bar higher. So I'm hoping someone has the answer to this.
