1982 diesel vanagon with 86jetta turbo need help?

I recently put an 86 turbo diesel in my 82 diesel vanagon.I ran the engine in the jetta for years without burning any or little oil.As soon as I put the engine from the jetta into the vanagon it burns a lot of oil.I do not know why.It of coarse now sits at a 50 degree angle.I have heard that maybe I need a one way valve in between the turbo and the oil pan.The oil pan is the original 82 non turbo pan with a return hole drilled in.Maybe that hole is to low.I am at a loss.Any help would be greatly appreciated.
