Hi everybody!

I'm looking for suggestions on what injection pump to use with JX 1.6 turbo engine in my '82 westy. I'm running it now w/o turbo. It has a N/A pump that I sent to Giles for rebuild and hotrodding last year. It runs great but I want to put the turbo back on for a little more push. I don't have the original pump anymore as it was traded to Giles for some other work on a MTDI pump he did for me... separate project.

So is there a bolt on pump that's a good upgrade or should I just look for another original type? I've heard its possible to fit other turbo pumps under the engine cover if the pump is clocked a little and you jump a tooth on the timing belt. I just don't know what a good match would be.

I've heard the VE pump off a 3.9 cummuns can create a monster on the M-TDI's. Don't know about the 1.6TD's. I believe it requires some modifications to fit.

If your NA pump is doing good keep it when you turbo it.
The turbo pump with the LDA only keeps fuel down when there is no boost.
It doesn't give you more fuel under load.
It is meant to keep the smoke down.
Maybe a Giles NA pump will work good with TD engine.
