Rear Seat Replacement

I have a 1986 VW Golf 4 door diesel and the rear bench seats fabric is decaying and rotting from time and heat exposure. I was recently at Pull A Part and noticed a number of 1995 & 1998 Golf Jettas and Golfs with extremely nice uphostery. The rear seats look as if they are attached the same as my 1986 Golf. Does anyone know if they are intechangable?

Your talking 10 year difference. I'd measure it. See if you can take one out, and look at the way it's mounted.
