Moving Sale: 85 1.6 Golf

Post by dleesel »

Very sad day for me but I'm finally getting around to posting my Gold 85 1.6 (na) manual Golf 4 door up for sale. Has less than 200k original miles on it, A/C works great, about 45 miles to the gallon give or take. Interior is unbelievably clean, seats are all in great condition except for a small tear in the driver side seat but I've had seat covers on it for close to a year. Have really enjoyed driving it but I am moving out of the country and have no place to store it.

I took very good care of it, changing the oil every 2500 miles, transmission fluid change, fuel filter, etc all at its due time.

Biggest upgrade to this beauty is the floor. The floor was rusted out. I got the floor redone. New floor panels welded in and Rhino blasted on both bottom and top. Funny how big of a difference this was on turns :D

The one thing you need to know. It began overheating so I parked it, because I'm a quasi-mechanic I asked my mechanic to take a look and he told me it needs a new head gasket. Its been parked for a few months now because my mechanic moved back to Ohio and I don't trust nor can I afford anyone else.

Will sell as-is for $2000

I'm in central Florida btw. Feel free to message me with any questions.
My name Lee and I has a Golf. An 85 1.6L N/A Golf.

My dream car.
A gold '85 4-door golf.
It might not be the head gasket.
Make sure coolant is flowing through the small hose going to the resevoir.
If it's plugged by the inline restrictor air will get trapped in the engine.

Good luck with the sale.
'91 Golf gasser converted to a 12mm pump, M-TDI.
'84 1.6TD Rabbit with a VNT-15 turbo, still setup to run on vegetable oil.
'84 GTI with 1.7TD pistons and intercooled.
2003 TDI wagon
2000 TDI Jetta.

x 2. seriously check this. This symptom would mean blown headgasket on most vehicles, but not these. Could be literally a 2 minute and $0 fix. you could get more for it and prevent some poor soul from changing a headgasket for no reason
Various vehicles in various states
