85 Golf 4-dr needs new left window seal

Post by Michael »

I searched the forum and looked over Jack's stock; didn't find it. The last ice storm caused my old, oft' repaired one to rip from one end to the other. If I can't find a new one for a "reasonable price" then I figured someone on this forum would have tried a novel approach. I love my car and want to keep it dry and myself comfortable. Any ideas folks? Thanx! Michael

I'd check with Recycled Jack in Auburn Hills, MI. He may still have some early door parts.
Have a nice day.

I'm going to move this to the classifieds.
Are you talking the seal around the outside/top of the door?
2-door or 4 door?

That's going to be hard to find/ship,.. can you just glue the strip back to the seal?

Been done once; can probably be done again. It did split right down the middle, but where there's a will, eh?!

Go to NAPA look for "black death".
The black weather strip adhesive.

The "Black Death" adhesive is a good choice. Just remember to clean up immediately if you get it anywhere else.
