Manually Adjustable Clutch Cable Substitution

Post by Thomas M »

Can I replace the self-adjusting clutch cable with a manually adjustable version??

My Bentley's manual(VG92) talks about both, but states "The two cables are not interchangable."

What say the gurus?????

Now that I've fiddled with the automatic cable and learned how to reset it, I think I'll stick with it. I'm only concerned that the nylon at the pedal end will wear through. I'll have to take a look at that. Auto is about $50, manual about $15.......so if it breaks, or is about to, I will go manual.
