You know what really grinds my gears,

Older new car smell,
Whenever I get in my 81' mk1 first thing I notice is that it just feels cool because there's no weird smells of cheap adhesives and phthalates of slowly dying plastic. There was never much to it and everything else is pretty much off-gassed, just the smell of that seat material they used.

It's not that I don't like newer cars (except for the electronics), it's that as they get ragged out they make all kinds of stank.
You know when you get in that "friends" car and you're like, "WTF? , oh - this is why junk cars today smell like they do."
That smell just gets stronger over time. New car smell becomes, You Need a New Car Smell.

How it's hard to see out of cars today because of smaller (aerodynamic) windows, factory dark tint, and airbags everywhere.
Love my older cars with big, square, clear glass with small frame pillars. Road trips are so pleasant.

I know.
I always try to turn my neck and check the next lane before I change lanes.
It's not near as easy to see a car in the next lane while driving the Mk4 Jetta.

Maybe it's because there isn't a hatch,..
I haven't tried the MK4 Golf.
