Re: free parts
Hi
I have it in my M2 Jetta Diesel with standard transmission. The leather boot is just under 9" across it at the base if stretched. The hump in the floor is pretty flat so was able to make it flat.
Made it wider at the front to allow for the shift pattern with reverse and 5th at the front of the pattern, similar to stock.
Will it fit your car? There is a chance. It takes only about 20-25 meters of filament. Maybe a dollar to make.

Re: free parts
Oh I see it's for use without a center console.
Have you seen the accordian boots for the Mk2?
I like them better than the bag and they are cheap.

Re: free parts
After testing the gear shift pistol grip above, I decided that I wanted it taller and further back.
