If VOA had a WV test drive

I am a confirmed vw fanatic. 86 jetta 1.6 n/a , 04 golf pd and 05 passat pd ( wife wanted an suv and the v-10 toureg sticker SCARED me)
I live in coastal carolina and just got back from a roundtrip ( stopped once for fuel) run to clay, wv in the golf.
40 mpg ( automatic ) , stayed in 5th up some very steep grades and New River Gorge was a blast. ( pass a harley in a TDI and watch the scowls).
A funny side note , on the way home a VA trooper in a dodge intrepid ( do they read any reviews ) flips around and stops me.
He saw my radar detecter (?) . I had to explain to him that a gps to find clay, wv was not a
radar detector and still got funny looks. He called his boss and after seeing a palm , gps and laptop he said " I'll give you the benefit of the doubt with all those gadgets".
