Of all the VW diesel powerplants; which is the lightest? Is the 1.9TDI the lightest(with or without the turbo(for physical weight, I mean.


Reason for asking(waves) is that I'm hunting for specific data to see if i can actually put a diesel in my 1987 lifted, subaru, turbo wagon. Surprised? fine... But anyone have the time or ablity to post the physical diamentions and weight for the different engines?

Sounds like a cool project. I'm not gonna be much help, but I certainly hope you can cram a 1.9 in there, because they are awesome engines.

Any VW diesel is going to be significantly heavier and taller than any EA engine.
