Hi -
I was wondering whether anyone's installed the auxiliary battery divider sold by Hella - the wee blue plastic box with the fuse. Mine's about in, but I need to select a keyed wire to tap into, and wondered what others have used.
Thanks!

Re: Hella auxiliary battery divider
Where have you mounted the battery divider? If by the motor. thenVanVan wrote:Hi -

you could use the IP fuel selenod. If in the front of the Van, then
half of the fuse panel is turned on/off with the key.

I've mounted it under the back seat; I partitioned the compartment and in the small new section have mounted the Hella unit, and also installed two remote battery terminals and a fuse block. None of it's live, yet...
The IP solenoid's the one wire right on the back of the injector pump, correct? Is there also a keyed wire on the back of the alt?

Yup about the IP wire. And there is one wire on the altVanVan wrote: The IP solenoid's the one wire right on the back of the injector pump, correct? Is there also a keyed wire on the back of the alt?
that is keyed, but I don't know how much power you can
pull from it. That would not be my first choice.
I would just tape into the fuse box some place. There are extra
1/4" spade connectors on the fuse box. Atleast my '82
Vanagon had a number for free ones.

Not sure what you mean by "fuse block must be fused...".VanVan wrote:The entire fuse block must be fused....?
On my Vanagon a some of the fuses have unused 1/4" spade
connectors on the down feed side of the fuse. I just assumed these
extra connectors are for options that my Vanagon does not have.

Personal favorite in multiple battery bank handling is SurePower. Note their guide to charging systems & batteries at http://www.surepower.com/pdf/ebr_int.pdf They seem to build in more reliability than the others for RVers of all sizes.
