1Y engine conversion

Has anyone fitted a 1Y engine from a seat toledo into a vanagon. The engine is 1.9N/A and about 68BHP - wandered if anyone has comments on how easy the conversion is.

There are quite a few folks who have done the swap. From what I hear it is a very easy swap. Directly bolts in. All of the 1.6n/a components bolt right up to the 1Y except possibly the ports on the intake manifold are different. No engine mount modification necessary. No turbo oil return either. Swap it in an afternoon. It would probably benefit from a larger diameter exhaust, but that would not be totally necessary. It also does have the piston cooling oil squirters and so should be able to handle a turbo retrofit in the future if you so chose.
