@006 Jetta TDI Mileage

My brother got a new TDI recently and rathey than go up, his mileage is falling at 5,000 miles (from 40.7 to 37 mpg at 65 or 70 on the highway. Anyone have any idea why/what he can do about it?

Did he change oil type/grade?

my mileage just dropped from the high 40's to the mid 30's in my old golf, as well as a drastic sound change, zero smoke and less smell..... i am thinking i just filled up with my first tank of ULSD
God I hope im wrong
