Synthetic vs. Rubber gaskets

How does one know if the gaskets/fuel lines used on their car are synthetic or rubber? I have heard that generally speaking, most cars went to synthetic around 1995 and after. My car is 1997, and I am wanting to run biodiesel, but not sure how to check if it has rubber or synthetic gaskets and fuel lines (want synthetic so biodiesel doesn't eat through).
