Steel Head Gasket on a 1.6n/a Hydraulic Engine?

I tried searching old posts on this, I'm sure there was some, but can't find.
Somebody said, I thot, that you could use a steel head gasket on like a '87 Jetta Hydraulic Engine. Is this true, does it work o.k., and fit o.k.? Which gasket is it? Thank you.

Yes, yes, yes. 1.9TD (AAZ engine). They were only imported into Canada so parts availability is a challenge. They are out there, tho...

Libbybapa---- Thanks, it helps. I will try to get my devious cousin at Red Lake, MN go up to Winnepeg, Man. and get it. Wish he would just "liberate" an entire 1.9TD for me, complete of course.
