Cam locking tool+ timing belt removal
Does anyone have a cam locking tool and IP locking tool for sale or for rent by chance? If not I think I will have to pay top dollar for these tools, right? Can you get away installing the timing belt without these tools? Thanks, E

I read this on the vortex.... the 10mm/13mm wrench that comes in the VW tool pouch fits perfectly into the cam slot. I tried it last time and it works great.
Don't use it to hold the cam while you break the cam bolt loose.

Surfing07..... in response to your question....
You do not need these special tools......
If you're doing a straight out belt change, make sure you're spot on Top Dead Center (TDC) remove and replace belt.... I borrow red fingernail polish from the Blond and put a dab on the TDC mark on crank, and a reference mark on cam pulley, although it is unlikely to move at TDC... the cam mechanism in the Injector Pump (IP) causes it to want to spring away from its TDC position, a lot of guys just use a small socket to lock (hold would be a better word) IP sprocket in TDC position to facilitate belt changeout.... personally I don't even do that... (note very carefully position of IP pump sprocket at crank TDC, here again a little red matchmark helps, and a photo really helps....
If you want to get into retiming and are going to pull valve cover you can use a door hinge as lock plate for camshaft....... If you're going to pull valve cover get one of the rubber one piece valve cover gaskets instead of old 3 piece cork..Richard
