91 Jetta rims
Anyone know what spray paint color best matches the factory color of the plastic center caps and trim rings for the 12 holed steel jetta wheels that came on alot of the Jettas?
The correct paint used on all
VW, BMW, Mercedes is "Wurth German
Alloy Silver Wheel Paint".
One source I had bookmarked, is
www.autopia-carcare.com/wus-892181.html.
It comes in a 400ml can for $17.99 which
is followed by a clearcoat,
Unfortunately, they won't ship outside the
continental U.S.A. which is okay for you.
Not so okay for us north of the border.

Actually, your post got me thinking...about wheels.
When I was a small boy, of five, we lived in Germany
for a few years.
We ha a maid named Helga who was a bit of a free
spirit.
Helga had a black, air-cooled Beetle with RED wheels.
She used to let me "drive" the car , that is, sit on her
knee and steer it.
The last time she let me "drive", we were on our way
out to meet up with my parents at the golf club when
I "drove" the car into a ditch.
She never let me "drive" the car again, after that.
I always thought that was a great looking car.
Unfortunately, I was too young to recognise that
Helga was pretty great looking too or to appreciate
the erotic pleasures of sitting on Helga's knee,
leaning back against her pert, young breasts while
bumping down a country road in her little, black bug.
Sorry about rambling on pointlessly.
Read my lips. Just reminiscing about lost opportunities.

I would highly recommed the product from Duplicolor which is specially formulated for wheels. I don't know if the silver they produce is an exact match, but it's very close to the vw original colour. I did all 4 of my rims and followed with a clear coat and they look great! I had them sandblasted first (tires off), so the results were impressive. Had to have one of them reblasted after I sprayed it, and the guy said the paint was tougher than the factory paint, so I think that wheel paint is specially made to resist chipping, etc.
If you need the exact paint code I can get that info for you.
Alas... blessed are we who have been touched by one Helga or another. I too had an experience but the vessel was a sailboat, and she indeed had the face to "launch a thousand ships", as Homer said.

Helga was the girls name from the "un-pimp your ride" Vw commercials. She's Queen of hot.duffer wrote: Unfortunately, I was too young to recognise that
