Best fuel conditioner w/anti gel?

Post by Tac »

Now that cold weather is here, what is your favorite fuel conditioner with anti gel. CRC, Gunk etc. there are a bunch of them out there. I'm sure there are ones we never heard of.

Stanadyne

That's one name I forgot about. I'm reading the back labels on these conditioners at the local part store and most of them seem to claim to do the same things. It would be interesting to see what most veterans are using here on this forum.

I've been using Gold Eagle DieselPower! Anti-Gel and Fuel Treatment

Nothing special, and priced the same as the CRC/Gumout type products

This is my first winter with diesel, I picked up some Howes Reconditioner. No specific reason other that it's been around for a while.

I can't forget about Sea Foam additive either. I've used that in both the oil and fuel in my cars.

I'll agree with that, but I don't have any technical data to back up my thoughts.

Stanadyne claims to be the additive Bosch recommends... I bought a case when I replaced my pump and injectors. I didn't have any gel-ing last winter and it seems to be fine.

I put in no additive in winter, just diesel fuel at the pump and thats it. They make it for cold climates in the winter why dump anything else in your tank? Maybe you guys got some bad fuel? The only time I ever dump diesel 911 in a tank is when they come up from the states from a warm climate and they are not using winter fuel, once they are on winter fuel there is never any trouble and I look at large 15+litre diesels that have 1million miles on them, each to his own, to me its a waste of money. Diesel is expensive and good enough.
