81 rabbit vs jetta

I'm just wondering how huge the difference is between an 81 4speed rabbit and an 81 5speed Jetta?
Would many of the parts interchange?

Do you have more of a specific question to the differences? Are you looking at engine/drivetrain, chassis, interior compatability or just overall?

Engines are identical and I've heard the dash's are the same width and will interchange. Seats should too and I think some suspension parts. Not too positive on this though.

I was pretty sure they were the same...

The engines are identical. There may be an accelerator advance on the cold start cable on the injector pump that speeds up the engine when the cold start lever is pulled on the Jetta, but it's not there on the Rabbit. Otherwise, the engines are the same.

Engines are the same. Front suspension is the same. Windshields are the same. I think the rear suspension is the same as well.
