Has anyone out there used the A3 automatic transmission coolers as a main heat exchanger? We are using 2 mounted side by side to heat WVO and should know in the next few days if it works, but I'm wondering...Phil

I just use the HWH, because it heats every inch of the fuel line.
Heating sections of the line doesen't work in the winter,... the section that isn't heated will clog and stop the whole line.

Fatmobile,
We have found that as long as the vehicle is garaged at night in winter, that an unheated 3/8" line to an unheated SVO tank in the trunk works okay. We put an FPHE up front with the heated filter. To save money on the Suzuki conversion we ganged two VW heat exchangers together. It's working quite well so far. I know the price of these has come down alot. I got one from New Brunswick, from a Biodiesel & SVO forum member, for about $100, with insulated box and right angle fittings. Phil
