My Caddy has 373000km on the clock, the engine is still strong but it needs new injector nozzles, struts and a tie rod end. Oh and the tail gate is barely hanging on to the bed, it's rusted out in hinge area...
A friend just bought a Mercedes 200D -88 with 745 000 km on the clock
My 85 Jetta Coupe has over 756,000 kms on the body but the original motor was replaced at around 470,000 kms. The original transmission lasted until 595,000 kms. It's getting a paint job and a TD transplant as we speak.
1985 Diesel Coupe 755,000 kms (now dead at 756,498 kms)
1989 GLI
1971 VW Pickup
1995 Golf CL
Our Rabbit engine has 609,000km on it and now it's in a Suzuki still running well. My son started it without glow plugs, in the parking lot the other day, after it had sat for 5 hours.
my dad used to work with a guy with a 82' diesel rabbit 5 speed, he racked over 500,000 miles on it before selling it on craiglist and buying a new TDI
he commutes 100 miles ONE WAY to work, then works 4 10's
My '83 Quantum has 323,xxx miles (519,xxx km) and still going very strong! Engine was rebuilt 100,000 miles ago. Has syncro disc brakes all around and many other improvements. She'll go another 300,000 before the body dies. She pulls my 2000lb homemade camper trailer too.
Mine's got 172,000 miles, JK code engine in a '82 body so I don't think it's original. Don't know if the odo's original either though . Body ain't too bad, engine runs great .
