Joe's VNT Rabbit heading toward california

Post by Fatmobile »

I got the VNT Rabbit going (the turbo install is in the performance fora) and Joe is taking it on vacation to the west coast.
He said he'll be going through New Mexico and will try to keep me updated on his route.
Here's his car:

ImageCamera didn't show it well but he has BUMMER printer across the top of the windshield.

I'm hoping he can make it past Andrew's and show him the VNT install.

It's hard to go from New Mexico to California without going through Flagstaff. Get him in touch with me. I'd love to see it first hand.

I was thinking the same thing. We talked about it and he said he'd stop by and show it to you.
PM me your phone number so he will be able to get ahold of you.
I told him if there are any problems with it, you are probably the only person in the area that will know how to work on it.

He's was in Springer New Mexico today.
He has an oil leak at the back of the block. Says it looks like the oil return line is leaking where it attaches to the turbo.
I'm trying to get him to stop by Andrew's so he can take a look at it,... maybe take it for a spin.

I'll bet it really scats with that turbo. The air breather seems to be made for that spot too. Note the fuel filter location. I'm not a dog lover but I can see that they are good protection against coyotes. Phil :)

He gave me a call.
He's in Northern Cali.
He said they were fixing the leak by smearing blue silicone on the gasket and reinstalling it.
Too goofy to even think of getting a new one at the dealership.
My guess is they will be pulling that out of the oil pump screen.

I chewed him out for not stopping by Andrews.
He's said he will stop by on the way back.
