Clutch will not release

Post by wild3bill »

When I step on the clutch it does not disconnect. If I put the tranny in a gear(1 or R) before I start I can move the car around the driveway or yard when I let the clutch pedal up the car moves but It I step on the clutch pedal to shift to second the tranny balks shifting out of first and into second. It acts like I am not stepping on the clutch at all.I have to kill the engine to shift to change direction!

Bleed the clutch. sometimes if the brake fluid level drops -like when the brakes wear, air gets into the feed for the clutch circuit and then- no clutch.
