a/c condenser

Does any one elses car have two a/c condensers? My dasher has on in front of the radiator, and one behind the front grill, where a normal cars radiator would be.

saw where someone said they tried to drill and glass shattered. What about using a drill bit made for tile/glass? I have watched the guys who install the frameless glass shower doors at some of our jobs and they drill through the glass to mount the hinges. Granted, its new glass, and maybe tempered ...

I use my hands. I use a pry bar with a block of wood behind it against the head/block if its too tight to move by hand, when i get it where it sounds good I mark it with a piece of chalk or sharpie, then go turn engine off, loosen injector lines at IP and tighten the ip down where I want it. If I kn...

if you wanted to keep it simple, you could rig up a 90 degree ball valve on the firewall next to fuel filter, (i guess depends on where your filter is, mine is on firewall, cant remember where my rabbit or jetta's was.) with something like a choke cable going to it, tee it into either the line suppl...

I do not think you can have to many grounds in these vehicles. My dasher even has a ground strap that goes from the body to the hood. I think i have seen that on some rabbits also.

yeah, i know what you mean, i have seen that my self. it looks like a basket ball being dribble really close to the ground. Scary. the rear of my car is definitely sagging, but the springs dont really seem too bad. From what I have read it is a very common thing though, so mayby they were not substa...

trans gear ratio, engine rpm, mph question

ok, so i went online and found a list of vw transmissions, and apparently, my 1980 dasher came with a 020 GC code 4 speed tranny, which until 1980 had a .97 fourth gear ratio, and a 3.89 rind and pinion. given that, and my tire diameter being 22.65 inches (175/70/13 bf goodrich radial t/a's), appren...

Bob, if your crank is at tdc, and your cam is at tdc, you are not going to have any interference between valve train and pistons. IP timing being off will affect engines performance but will not cause devastating immediate damage. Did you lock everything in place before you removed timing belt? And ...

So I have never been satisfied with the 1980 dahsers ride, and now that I'm driving it again, I did some home work and found these springs at advanced. TRW 225, application was. 92 golf gti, 3.48 " coil I'd, .473 " bar diameter. 13" free height, 11" load height. S R- 113 # per in...

injection pump timing nightmare, and dream! dasher update:)

Its been over a year since I rebuilt my injection pump. After I rebuilt it and reinstalled it the hose from the water pump to the side of the block burst within 2 minutes. It was on its last legs from getting diesel and biodiesel leaked on it from the leaking pump. Completely frustrated, I didn't to...
