In my mind you're trying to snug her down as gently as possible... so I do the first 1/4 turn across all ten bolts, then go back and do the next 1/4 turn... rather than two 1/4 turns one right after the other on each bolt.

Yup.... that's the right test (although I dunno why they have you remove the line to the stop solenoid) and you should see the glow plugs come on for 20-30 seconds with the temp sender disconnected. Only caveat: there are two identical temp senders... one for the glow plugs and one for the temperatu...

Works well for me... particularly if I've used the correct torque when I tightened 'er down in the first place.

IIRC it's a scan from the packing slip that came with a ZEXEL seal kit... no legend that I can find, unfortunately.

Yup, good catch. The drive shaft / plunger shaft can be aligned two different ways... the correct way is noted in red on this exploded diagram:

Good catch... unlike the other warning systems (oil, temp) where the circuitry is part of the cluster the upshift has a relay controller module of its own, as Quantum TD posted. Some folks probably delete that too.

The upshift light algorithm appears to be: signal an upshift if over 2000ish RPM and: - not at full throttle - not at idle throttle (eg, coasting down a hill) - not already in 5th gear So the system has 4 inputs: - switch on the transmission, combined with the backup light switch, that signals 5th g...

Shop vac on the upper coolant flange (the one that goes the rad) works a treat by holding that nasty t-stat in place with suction.

The answer to that is another 15-20 horsepower at the wheels. Trust me, I have one. And if you're like the guy I know with the NA version... your fuel economy stayed the same (or got slightly better) at same time. I had the TD version...drove it for two years and then sold the car so removed the pu...
