Veg oil

Can you put new cooking oil into the diesel tank and will it run all the same. What kind of oil is the best and how much as in %/tank can you run? Its cheaper than diesel cause its 6.5/7 dollars a gallon now for diesel. Guys dump used engine oil in thier tanks and run that so I can not see why it wo...

not worth the couple bucks per tank saved to the hundreds in fines if ever dipped.

I often thought of a diesel cabrio with a tdi. Vw are lame for not making one. Exhaust smell? What about a gasoline powered droptop all the same to me. You really would not smell anything driving the car.

Flat taxes hurt the poor people cause they can not afford to pay the base rate. Taxing too much on the rich you drive them out and they leave to pay their taxes somewhere else plus some of their industries like you stated the will take out the jobs for the common people that they brought with them. ...

Everyone on this forum that has a Vw diesel should be thankfull that they are using thier head and not driving fuel hogs. Think about it diesel was about 85 cents a litre near the end of 07 then went to 1.38 a litre today. Thats not quite double the price. Our cars will get triple the MPG then most ...

I only use the bosch oil filters they are 3.28 canadian, I think its even as cheap and if not cheaper than the fram filter. The micron level in a fram is too high and lets too much pass. You most likely have your reasons and research done on the filter department I assume. Fram = good hard for me to...

Easy swap. Can not see why it would be any different than a rabbit the drop top should not make it hard for the diesel engine to fit. Vw's never change much from year to year as a rule and pretty much any gasoline water cooled body with a 020 tranny its a direct bolt on.

My old steel wheels would shake as well even with new tires on them at 75+mph. A good mechanic always blames the wheels that way you get out of fixing and the tire shop can do the work :P . Make sure everything on the front end is tight and then try another set of wheels, even rotate the tires and t...

Thats funny.. I have seen people "rebuild engines" and they burn the same amount of oil as before the rebuild. It's called the farmer rebuild. New rings and knerl the valves, even leave in the original oil pump of 250,000miles. When I was 18 I was at the engine shop that did my mustang's 2...

That small amount on the crank from everything locked up at TDC looks like it would not be a tooth out I think that you would not be able to see the mark on the flywheel and the valves would be hammered. My guess would be the cam sprocket just a little out of time. Maybe it has come loose(doubt it b...

I think on a auto show they were interviewing the owners of dodge I heard they are always at least 4 years behind the market and what people want. So 2010-2012 we should see some more sesible cars in North America. The good of the high fuel costs is maybe we will get some very small piece of what eu...

Thats all the refinery is making in Regina is diesel they are going full bore on it. The reserves are way down for diesel so as they catch up the price shiould drop again. Diesel is at $1.38 a litre and gas is $1.35. Down for 1.41 diesel 1.31 gas. So $6.26 a gallon for diesel, I knew I should have s...

I thought Hydrogen increases the combustion temps, which would increase Nox. Maybe I am wrong? If so would be not really good with some newer engines like semis with EGR coolers that try to decrease the exhuast gas temps that is mixed back into the intake with cold charged air.
