Clear hose from Fuel filter to Injection pump

Post by wild3bill »

My filter to IP hose is too dark to see through. What have you used to replace this hose? What size and material have worked for you?

I use clear braided vinyl tubing on my dasher 1/4" inside dia. works good clamped in place. I replaced both my filter to ip line and my ip return line with it.

Viton is good stuff (can handle WVO and Biodiesel) but expensive.

Hose

Post by MaxB »

If you look at Viton hose, it probably has a little plastic like liner. I looked up the specs on Viton hose because of using biodiesel. Fuel injection hose, as opposed to regular fuel hose, meets the same specs. It is available at Checker, (Kraegen) and Autozone. That stuff is still a bit pricey, but less than viton. Problem is it's not clear (see through). I went to a hose company to get the little hose that jumpers return fuel from the injectors. It's pretty expensive at VW dealer. They gave me some clear urethane hose. I can't remember exactly what it's called, something-thane. It must not be too expensive because he gave(free) me about 6 feet of it. I don't know if there's much pressure on the return lines or not.
Good Luck
