1. Got my 97 Jetta cylinder head back today with the seats ground and new guides installed. Machinist did a quick check in his book and said my new valves should be 1.377" from the top of the stem to the surface of the spring seat. I get 1.460"average. There are no washers used under my springs. Is this dimension correct(1.377")?
2. My waste gate valve control has 2 lines going to it. One from the intake manifold(boost) and the other from the vacuum pump line by way of a solenoid valve. I'm guessing the diaphragm in the control has vacuum applied to it on one side only, only under certain conditions, possibly when the engine is not cold?. Can I bypass the solenoid valve and apply vacuum all the time?
3. How do I disable the alarm system and does this car have an onboard computer?
4. What is the correct cylinder head torque for this engine. Thanks, Phil
