I'm getting rid of that preheated job on my car. Tired of spending more money for filters and never getting the right o-ring for the T control thingy.
How do you prime the older A2 style filter with the in and out fitting only? Any tips, tricks?
I've looked at using a screw on filter because they're easy to find, cheap, and easy to fill, but this is my 2nd option and the easiest right now.

just a caution... a primer bulb will be hard as a rock in cold temps.
a Mighty Vac pump is very handy for this sort of thing and lots of others uses. justifiable expenditure. possibly a bit less expensive, a 'slurp gun' also works, those are just the plunger/cylinder thingys.
in conjunction with the MightyVac, i made a fluid separator out of a widemouth quart Mason canning jar with 2 hose barbs JBWelded thru the lid. on the inside of the lid, run a short section of hose off of the barb and down to the bottom of the jar to keep the fluids from entering the pump.
2 points... use the sealing lids with the *red*, not gray gasket. it used to be that Ball was red and Kerr was gray but now Kerr is owned by Ball and they both use red sealing rings. the gray dissolves with petroleum based fluids.
secondly, a canning jar withstands full pump vacuum without implosion. if you use a thinner walled mayonaise or pickle jar, they are not as strong.

For various fuel procedures, medical canisters are handy:

I got a few at a thrift-store, but they are prolly sold at pharmacies and surg supply places for a couple bucks.
